Nandi Hills Member of Parliament Alfred Keter has filed an application before the Eldoret High Court seeking a petition challenging his win in the August 8 polls to be thrown out.

Through his lawyers led by Bernard Lang'at, Keter claims the petition has no grounds to proceed.

The Jubilee MP is also seeking some affidavits filed by witnesses in the case to be expunged.

"Some of those affidavits were filed outside the set timelines and therefore should not be used in this petition," Lang'at told the court on Monday.

The petitioner, Bernard Kibor also filed an application to be allowed to add more evidence in the case in which he is seeking nullification of the Election results.

In the petition, Kibor claims the MP campaigned beyond the set times, he was involved in voter bribery as well as claims of irregularities and illegalities.

Eldoret High Court Judge George Kimondo will make a ruling on the two applications on December 7, 2017, at 2.00pm.

Keter was declared the winner with 28,923 votes against 13,872 garnered by independent candidate Benard Kibor Kitur who came second.
