Speaking to news reporters over the weekend at Gatundu town, the MP said that the responsibility for security lies with every citizen.

The law maker however blamed security agencies for taking too long to combat some terror threats.

"Security agencies should seek intelligence and act on it in time to assure Kenyans of their safety. County governments should also support the national government to address the issue," he added.

He said that county government can play a big role on matters security adding that the national government needs to involve every stakeholder in the fight against terror.

The MP noted that the country’s economic status is at risk if adequate measures are not taken to keep terrorists at bay.

At the same time, Kigo urged locals in the constituency to exercise unity and peace and desist from acts that will cause division.

He said that the constituency will develop if locals embrace each and work towards development.
