A parliamentary aspirant from Othaya has elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans after it emerged that he is using a hired wheelbarrow to campaign.

Joseph Minjire Gaku has promised his rivals a run for their money despite his weak financial capability.

According to Minjire, nothing will stop him from becoming the next Member of Parliament in the constituency.

The aspirant has been traversing from one part of the area to another rallying the electorate to back his candidature using a wheelbarrow hire from his friend. The vocal politician is equipped with a loud speaker, amplifier, battery and microphone.

At the age of 22, the aspirant has remained upbeat that he will beat his rivals hands down when that time comes.

He has assured his supporters that he is going for nothing but victory ahead of the August general elections.

"I am not intimidated by the big spenders and fuel guzzlers, my fate lies with the Othaya people," he was quoted by Capital FM news.

The politician has pledged to improve the welfare of the residents if he wins the seat after the exercise. He is expected to lock horns with Jubilee's Gichuki Mugambi, Wambugu Wainaina and Peter King'ara.

The aspirant’s campaign strategy looks similar to MCA candidate, Simon Muturi Muthee who hit headlines for moving around in search for votes using bicycle.
