Jomvu Parliamentary seat aspirant Dan Aloo has written to ODM National Election Board demanding a direct nomination.Aloo wrote to the board's chairperson Judith Pareno on Wednesday saying the incumbent MP and former Wiper Party organizing secretary Badi Twalib is not an ODM member and therefore does not qualify to take part in the primaries slated for Saturday.Twalib was paraded on March 26 at Tononoka Grounds during an ODM rally where the Pwani Declaration was made, as one of the politicians who had decamped to ODM.However, Aloo, said for Twalib to be allowed to vie on an ODM ticket, he has to have been a party member for at least six months.“Therefore for him to say that he wants to face me in the nomination is absurd because he does not meet the criteria,” he said.“As far as we were concerned, he is still a Wiper man. His name was supposed to be purged from party list and issued with certificate of clearance,” he added. He argued that there is no proof that Twalib has been cleared by the party.“This leads to automatic disqualification. He is basically a ghost candidate and should be locked out on technicality,” he said.Aloo maintained he is the only ODM candidate for the Jomvu seat after Jomvu Kuu MCA Karisa Nzai decamped to Jubilee. “Nzai’s departure saw me listed as among the 400 aspirants to be issued with direct tickets but Twalib popped up from nowhere,” said Aloo.“I have been a life member of ODM since 2006 and no one can dispute my loyalty,” he added.
