Borabu MP Ben Momanyi believes that Cord should name its flag bearer before the end of the year as it readies for the 2017 elections.
The opposition has been rocked with internal wrangles and which became more evident on Sunday when Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka challenged his co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to name the flag bearer by Decemebr 25.
And the Wiper MP on Wednesday at his Nyansiongo backyard said Cord's delay in naming a presidential candidate would give Jubilee an upper hand to perform against it.
“I don’t see the reason why we should aim at strengthening our individual parties yet time is running out. Our followers should know our flag bearer to avoid confusion and a fallout in future,” he said.
“The government has already named its flag bearer and it has left us with a huge challenge. We should ensure that by Christmas we know our presidential candidate. That is the only way we can avoid being embarrassed by Jubilee in next year’s polls,” he added.
Momanyi supported a delegate pronouncement to select the suitable presidential candidate.
