Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau has blamed the police on increased insecurity at Kyumbi town in Athi River, Machakos Count
Makau said the police in the area have slept on the job thereby giving room for insecurity to thrive in the town and its neighbourhoods.
He said police officers had stopped night patrols in the area despite increased reported cases of insecurity.
"We have 51 policemen here they should divide themselves and conduct night patrols around the area, why would they sit and watch as our people are being killed," Makau said.
Makau addressed journalists at Ndauni Bar and Restaurant in Kyumbi town on Friday.
The MP said he will lead residents in finding ways to secure themselves if police fail to offer them necessary protection.
"Even if we will use arrows and spears we will just to ensure our people are secure instead of depending on the police who seem to have gotten into their comfort zone," Makau said.
