Speaking on Saturday over the phone Mwalika claimed he didn't issue the check to the said Ziyad Hussein and 'she' isn't his lover.

He said that the sh.91,000 bursary was meant to benefit 13 students but was given to one student under unfamiliar circumstances.

"The cheque was meant to be disbursed to 23 students and the list was given to the accountant but when it went back to the office the names were changed and one student awarded", said Mwalika.

He went ahead to claim that from his investigation his constituency development fund Manager Salim Hussein Hassan is to blame for the mishap.

He said that the beneficiary of the money is not a resident of Kitui rural constituency and is not female but male.

"From my investigation it's my cdf manager who awarded the said beneficiary with the money who happens to be from his family," he said.

He said that he has suspended the CDF manager and sent him back to the headquarters while waiting for his position to be filled.

The lawmaker went ahead to clarify that they have revoked the money after realizing it was issued to the wrong student.

"In my right senses there's no way i would issue such an amount to one student,I don't know one Ziyad Hussein and the money has been revoked from going into the account of the said school," he said.
