Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka has called for the arrest of Siaya Senator James Orengo and former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama over their threat to swear in NASA leader Raila Odinga as president.Speaking to journalists at the Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Monday, Musyoka said Orengo and Muthama’s statements are a threat to national security and the two should be apprehended immediately. The Maendeleo Chap Chap MP said the country is still in a volatile political period, adding that incitement can easily trigger violence.“These people (NASA politicians) should be grilled over their continuous threat to swear in Raila Odinga,” said Musyoka. The MP said NASA politicians are openly inciting Kenyans, and wondered why they are conducting political rallies yet the campaign and election period had ended. He said NASA politicians could plunge the country into civil war if their utterances are not tamed. The legislator appealed to the relevant state agencies to monitor opposition leaders and take action against those who openly spew hateful remarks.Speaking on Sunday during a rally at Jacaranda grounds, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Orengo, Muthama and other NASA politicians vowed to swear in Raila as their president. They also threatened to push for secession if the country does not hold fresh presidential elections.
