Thika town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has called for intensified security this festive season.
In a media address to reporters on Sunday, the MP said that cases of crime are common during the festive season. She urged the law enforcers to streamline security and deal with law breakers adding that it is the responsibility of police to protect Kenyans.
“Every citizen has a right to be protected and that no one should be denied the right. My appeal is to law enforcers in Thika and adjacent towns to ensure people are secure this festive season,” she said.
The MP further called on police to conduct more patrols in areas perceived to be crime-prone order to flash out criminals.
She said that a secure environment will encourage investors and boost economic prosperity of the constituency.
At the same time, the MP urged the county government to start projects that will quickly boost economic development.
He urged the county to give incentives to investors so that they can invest their money and manpower in the county.
“The county should be keen to attract investors across Kiambu for the purposes of socio-economic development,” she added.
Ng’ang’a said that Thika town is growing and will soon become the socio-economic hub of Kiambu county.
