Speaking at Katwala Mixed Secondary School on Thursday, the Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) legislator said that the Ukambani region will not ascend to the country's top leadership unless its leaders unite.Mboni argued that disunity and political mistrust is what is ailing development in the Ukambani region. He claimed that a majority of Kamba politicians seek their own selfish interests at the expense of serving the community. The CCU party lawmaker asked senior Kamba politicians led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to put their differences aside and unite the community.“We are going nowhere as a community if leaders continue to serve their personal interests at the expense of uniting the people,” said Mboni.Mboni said that the Kamba community has been made a laughing stalk and branded names as a result of selfish interests being driven by certain politicians. He asked Kalonzo to take the first step and bring the community together.Mboni said that Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid will be in vain if the community is not untied. He also asked other politicians in the region to unite and work together for the interest of the Kamba people. On Monday, a section of Kamba leaders and politicians endorsed Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid in a meeting held in Matungulu constituency, Machakos.Several leaders among them Governor Alfred Mutua have since dismissed the endorsement, terming it fake.
