Changamwe MP Omar Mwinyi has said there is need to set up a resource centre for artisans in the region.

Speaking on Saturday when he met artisans drawn from Changamwe Constituency at Jambo hotel, the MP said the centre will be useful in helping the artisans address the key challenges they encounter and come up with ways of improving their welfare.

"We all agreed there was need to have a resource center where artisans can be able to meet, exchange ideas as well as nurture their talents,” said Mwiniyi.

The MP also encouraged the youth to apply for government funds and start businesses.

"As youth, you should take advantage of the Youth Fund and Youth Enterprise Fund to launch a bid to change your status,” said Mwinyi.
