Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden wants the government investigative agencies to hasten the probe into the late Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery’s untimely death.
The MP also wants the national government to make public the results of the investigation on the cause of Nkaissery’s death once the probe is complete.
“The government must do thorough probe and tell Kenyans what killed the late Interior CS,” he said.
The ODM MP claimed that the government has a tendency of allegedly hiding investigation findings relating to death of high profile politicians who die under mysterious circumstances.
He said that investigation reports and finding into the death of high profile and top politicians who have died in the recent years remain a mystery.
The ODM MP eulogized the late Nkaissery as a man of his word who did everything in the interest of Kenyans.
He lauded Nkaissery’s security initiates and approaches which he said had restored security in Northern Kenya and other parts of the country.
Nkaissery is said to have collapsed and died at his Karen home on Saturday morning. According to media reports, the late CS was pronounced dead after being rushed to Karen hospital.
A probe into his death is ongoing with security detectives said to have quizzed 10 people in regards to Nkaissery's death.
A postmortem on the late CS is expected to be conducted today (Monday) at the Lee Funeral Home even as burial preparations start.
Politicians across the divide have eulogized the late Nkaissery as a dedicated public servant who had the interests of Kenyans at heart.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday appointed Education CS Fred Matiang’i to take over the Interior docket in an acting capacity.
