Nyaribabari Chache Member of Parliament Richard Tong’i has called upon the national government to suspend services of road contractors in his constituency for failing to deliver on time.
According to the lawmaker, some roads were supposed to be completed early this year but they are still dragging on without any explanation.
“Most of the contractors carrying out the government projects in this constituency have been fully paid and they haven’t so far done a good work and I will ensure action is taken against them,” said Tong'i.
The legislator was speaking on Sunday when he officially opened Irungu P.A.G Secondary School Multi - purpose Hall.
He said residents have been subjected to numerous transport challenges especially during the rainy season.
Tong'i added that he will personally ensure that the contracts are revoked while at the same time monitoring the progress of roads in the area.
He further called upon the government to blacklist contractors who had failed to deliver on roads in the country.
