Labor Party of Kenya leader Ababu Namwamba should come out openly and support President Uhuru Kenyatta instead of ‘beating around the bush’, an ODM lawmaker has said.
The former ODM secretary general recently said his party will field candidates in various positions from the MCAs to governorship in the 2017 elections but remained conservative on the presidential slot saying the LPK was likely to back another candidate.
And now North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has accused the Budalangi legislator of working with Jubilee to thwart ODM’s influence in its strongholds.
“I think time has come for Ababu to come out openly and declare his support for Uhuru. His political activities across the country speak volumes and he cannot hide anymore from his bad deeds,” Geni, a former ally of Ababu said.
“It worries us when he talks of a Third Force when he is strongly campaigning in ODM strongholds meaning that he wants to divide the votes in favour of Jubilee. He is basically hiding from reality yet he is working for Jubilee. We want him to invade Central and Rift Valley regions if indeed he isn’t working for them,” he added.
Ababu has been in the frontline revamping the LPK with his focus being in Western Kenya where ODM enjoys substantial support.
