Machakos town MP Victor Munyaka has urged politicians in the county to shun their differences and work together on development.

Addressing journalists at Machakos town on Thursday, Munyaka said that time has come for county leaders to bury their hatchets and focus on delivering services.

The MP said that the county has been singled out as the best in terms of service delivery and that leaders too should be the best when it comes to working together.

The Machakos legislator noted that the county will continue to register success if leaders embrace unity.

“I urge Machakos leaders to embrace unity and focus on working as a team so that the people can get quality services,” he said.

The MP noted that disunity among county leaders is likely to affect development.

Munyaka said that more development projects and success will be realised if leaders in the county are united.

The lawmaker urged governor Alfred Mutua to initate dialogue with all leaders so as to iron out issues affecting their relationships.

The MP at the same time cautioned politicians against mixing politics with development.

He said that development will never be realised in an environment where there is too much politics.

Munyaka asked leaders to concentrate on development politics and shun petty issues.

He said that Kenyans are mature people in terms of democracy and politics and are watching leaders who want to take them back to years of empty promises.

The MP also urged elected leaders to fulfill the pledges they made to the people during the last general election.
