Thika Township MP Patrick Wainaina has commended police officers from Makongeni police station for their efforts to fight illegal businesses in the region.
Speaking on Sunday afternoon when he visited the station, the MP said the officers should not be taken for granted.
“I am happy with the job our officers are doing to ensure no illegal business is taking place in Thika constituency. It is time residents cooperate with the security forces to ensure criminals and drug peddlers are flushed out from the region,” he said.
The lawmaker promised to work closely with the police officers so that his constituents and their property remain safe.
“I will be assisting the police officers in their work and help improve their working conditions, construction of good houses to ensure they keep Thika and its environs secure,” he noted.
Wainaina warned the local youth against venturing into illegal businesses saying the law will not spare anyone who fails to adhere to it.
