Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir on Thursday officially opened community toilets at Tudor-Moroto slums, in Mvita Constituency.

Speaking during the event graced by locals, the legislator put emphasis on improving sanitation facilities in the area, in a bid to promote safe and hygienic practices.

"Our belief is that the toilets will improve the general hygiene standards in the area as well as give residents a proper sanitary facility with running water," he said.

Shariff further implored the residents to maintain high standards of hygiene to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases.

The project was fully funded by the the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) kitty.
