Naivasha MP John Kihagi has pledged to ensure that every child in the constituency has access to quality and affordable education.

The lawmaker said that access to education should be made easy for every Kenyan adding that it is through education that any society will be able to achieve positive transformation and development of lives.

Addressing residents when he toured Naivasha town, Kihagi said that he has got elaborate plans to boost education in the area.

The legislator said that Naivasha as a sub-county had been posting exemplary results in national examinations noting that he is keen on making sure that the position was maintained

“Access to education should be made easy for the people so that they can get knowledge, skills and to be better people in a society,” said Kihagi.

The MP intimated that the sub county education committee had put in place strategies meant to ensure that children have access to education.

Kihagi also reminded the residents that bursary funds were available adding that many needy and bright students had already benefited from the bursary.

The legislator asked needy students who have not yet applied for bursaries to do so before the year ends.

Kihagi on the same note urged the national government to dialogue with teachers unions to avert the looming strike which would paralyse learning in school.

Strikes have most of the times paralysed education and contributed to poor results in national examinations, therefore the government should find a possible solution to this problem,” added Kihagi.
