Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wa has called on leaders in the county to forge together and fight against alleged intimidation from senior county government officials.
Addressing the press on Wednesday at Kikuyu town, Ichung'wa said that the county government is keen to intimidate some leaders.
He indicated that the tactics being employed by some county government officials are meant to cause fear among elected leaders.
“We should fight against intimidation, on one has the right to intimidate others because they feel they are superior,” he said.
The lawmaker said that he will not be silenced adding that his aim is to fight for the people who elected him.
Ichung'wa said that leaders must unite and fight elements that he said would continue to tarnish the image of the county.
He also asked the county government to address problems facing the people instead of issuing threats to leaders.
The MP added that time has come for Kenyans to note the kind of leaders they have and make informed decisions in the coming elections.
At the same time, the MP says that his life is in danger stating that he has received threats in regards to the weekend chaos over the closure of Madaraka Market in Thika.
Ichungwa asked the State to provide him with more security and called for investigation into the matter.
His Thika counterpart Alice Ng’ang’a also claims that she has been threatened for supporting hawkers during the chaos over the weekend.
