Ngunjiri has said that it was shameful for the five leaders to spend a night under Police custody for questioning, over the demonstrations that took place in Narok County.

“I am totally against the issue of arresting the MPs and making them spend a night in the cells. Some of these things can be resolved diplomatically without involving the courts,” said Ngunjiri.

At the same time, Ngunjiri asked the Acting Inspector General Samuel Arachi to take action against officers based at Bahati Police Station, accusing them of taking bribes and arresting residents haphazardly.

“I am telling the Police boss very clearly that the corruption at Bahati Police Station must come to a stop. We will force them out of that station because I don't want officers who arrest my people and solicit bribes from them,” he said.

The MP accused them of setting a kangaroo court in the station, which has become a centre of corruption.

He was speaking on Monday at St Geralds Secondary school during the opening of a laboratory.
