Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose has condemned police officers serving his the constituency for their continued harassment on unarmed residents.
The MP accused three administration police officers who on Saturday night attacked a boda boda rider who refused to take them to Nyamira town.
"It is shameful for police officers to force themselves on boda boda riders to carry them without payment. It is time the police bosses especially Nyamira county commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to transfer all the rogue officers from the region failure to which I will personally take action,” he said.
The MP reiterated that there is need for police officers to respect other people and not forcing themselves on the people because they are police officers.
“Officers who lack respect to a common citizen lack respect to the whole nation. It is from locals where police officers get information about criminals to arrest them but I wonder how residents can provide information to police when they are being harassed around,” he noted.
The Jubilee MP assured that he will not sit and watch police officers harassing his constituents who are entitled to security protection.
