A NASA affiliated MP in Kisii county has faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta for hiring foreign doctors instead of paying the available doctors good money to improve service delivery.
Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka claimed that the Jubilee government and its leaders have taken Kenya doctors for granted following their decision to hire doctors to work in the country on a contract basis.
"It is a big shame for UhuRuto to rush in hiring doctors from outside the county yet we have doctors who are trained in this country but underpaid.
"The government should stop demeaning their workers and instead afford to pay huge money to foreign people to work at our health facilities," he said.
The Ford Kenya MP said the union of doctors should reject the hiring of doctors from foreign countries until the government agrees to pay them well.
The vocal MP challenged the Jubilee government under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta to equip colleges offering medical courses to help Kenyan learners to get qualified and competent skills to help in fighting diseases in this country such as cancer.
