Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi has condemned ‘uncouth’ conduct by a section of Kisii County residents who allegedly labeled Jubilee leaders from the region ‘hens’.
Last week several Jubilee leaders were chased from Nyacheki ward with angry ODM youths and the incident led to trending of the word ‘hens’ in several social media platforms among them Kisii County Facebook account.
Speaking at Marani on Monday, Angwanyi challenged ODM supporters to be sober and to respect leaders regardless of the party.
“When you carefully look at me, I don’t think I have traces of a hen. ODM supporters should learn to respect leaders regardless of our political stands and affiliations,” he said.
“We must be sober and learn to embrace our political differences. There is nothing wrong for some of us to support Jubilee because we have democratic rights to do so. My appeal is that they should desist from using demeaning language against us,” he said.
The veteran politician is a key ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta and has never shied away from propagating Jubilee Party agenda in Gusii region.
