Turbo Member of Parliament Janet Sitienei has blamed the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) for transferring a large number of head teachers with discipline cases and those under interdiction from other schools to schools in her constituency.

She said this is uncalled for and will lead to poor performance.

"As the member of parliament for Turbo am not happy with this move, how can head teachers without indiscipline cases be posted in my constituency," she said at Just Kali, Turbo constituency after awarding bursaries 31 needy and bright students joining form one in various national schools.

"I call upon TSC to consider every school merit and stop transferring head teachers who can’t perform to schools that have a good record of producing excellent results," she added.

She reiterated that most schools in her constituency do not have TSC teachers, therefore, it will be a big challenge if those few are transferred without proper considerations.

The legislature also warned teachers who are still charging school fees overburdening parents despite the introduction of free secondary school education.
