An MP in Nakuru has defended Governor Kinuthia Mbugua over his absence in prayer rallies conducted by Jubilee leaders.
The prayers rallies, mostly attended by MPs, Senators and Governors from the ruling coalition are meant to 'help' Deputy President William Ruto to triumph against the case he faces at the International Criminal Court at the Hague.
Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria said the governor means well for the DP and politicians associating him with rebel politicians from the Jubilee administration were out to taint his name.
"I would like to tell my brother Duale to spare my governor," he said during celebrations to mark Mashujaa Day at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru town.
He said associating Governor Mbugua with Jubilee politicians who have rebelled against the government does not call for debate since he fully supports the DP in the war crimes and crimes against humanity case he faces at the ICC.
Duale who spoke during a prayer rally held in Narok on Monday said governors skipping the prayer rallies for the DP will be punished.
MP Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Soipan Tuya (Narok Women Rep) and Senators Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Naisula Lesuuda (nominated) also called for stern action against the governors.
