Nyaribari Chache Member of parliament Richard Tong'i has defended some Kisii county leaders for holding secret frequent meetings which he said is meant to negotiate on how Kisii county will benefit from the national government and not on how Kisii county leadership to be in 2017.
This comes after allegations that some Kisii county politicians met to organise on how Kisii county leadership can be changed.
Speaking to journalist on Monday, Tong’i noted that 80 percent of the money belongs to the national government and they are looking for a way to benefit from that.
The legislature said some of the kisii county politicians have met five times to share how Kisii county residents get more development projects and denied allegations that they meet to change Kisii county leadership come 2017.
“We need Kisii county residents to benefit from the national government that is why we meet as leaders to share about the development and not politics,” noted Tong’i.
“We have heard that some people alleged that we meet to change the leadership of our country in 2017 but the one who determines the next will Kisii Governor, Senator is the voter,” added Tong’i.
