Nakuru Town West Member of Parliament, Samuel Arama, on Saturday defended the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Fred Madiang'i from criticism by Miguna's lawyers. According to the legislator, Matiang'i needs too be respected in virtue of his position.
Speaking to an NTV reporter at a church function, the lawmaker urged those pinning Matiang'i on every issue to refrain from that and respect the CS.
He was referring to the manner in which the Interior Minister handled the whole issue of Miguna that led to his deportation back to Dubai.
"Matiang'i did this, Matiang'i did that, we want to ignore that. We have agreed with Nguchiri and others and we want to say that Matiang'i should be respected. He is a minister of security and should not be blamed for anything," said Mr. Arama.
Matiang'i had been sued by Miguna's lawyers alongside Inspector General Boinett and Gordon Kihalangwa in a case that saw them fined ksh200000 being found guilty of contempt of court orders. The CS had failed to produce Miguna in court and as well appear in court hence leading to his fining by High Court judge George Odunga.
