Nyando MP Jared Okello wants thorough investigations conducted to reveal the identities of those responsible for the killing of three protesters last week in Kisumu County.The MP said the level at which the Jubilee administration is allegedly profiling members of the Luo community is worrying, adding that leaders from lakeside counties won't stand and watch as the community is brutalised.He said NASA leaders will not accept to be driven back to the old days of injustices, rampant killings, deportation and silencing of innocent citizens.He spoke on Friday after the killing of three people including a Form Two student at Lela Secondary School during protests that rocked parts of Kisumu over the deportation of opposition chief Raila Odinga's former adviser Miguna Miguna to Canada."We are appealing to Independent Police Oversight Authority, independent human rights organisations and the international community to probe the killing of NASA supporters by police," Okello said."This has to end. We cannot allow our people to be butchered and brutalised by inhuman police officers,” he added.Residents had on Tuesday come out to protest against the arrest and failure by police to produce NASA lawyer Miguna Miguna who comes from Nyando.The protests paralysed transport along the busy Ahero-Kisumu road as police fired in the air and hurled tear gas canisters to disperse the residents who lit bonfires and barricaded the roads during the day-long running battles.Three people are reported to have died after being shot dead during the protests.
