Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire has dismissed claims that his regime favours public university students alone in bursary allocations.

This comes moments after the MP was subjected to online ridicule in the officials’ Facebook page of the constituency as angry students expressed their dissatisfaction with Bosire’s administration.

But in a quick rejoinder on Tuesday, Bosire said the CDF committee considered all needy cases from ISO certified institutions since 2013.

“I would like to set the record clear that my regime has never discriminated any group of university students. The CDF committee has been giving all deserving cases bursaries since 2013 and I am shocked with these strange allegations,” he said.

“Even though public university students are given first priority, we also give bursaries to deserving students in private universities which are ISO certified,” Bosire added.

Bosire challenged complainants to get facts from the CDF offices in Tombe before engaging in ‘rumor mongering’ which he said was detrimental to his social-political rights.

“I challenge those spreading propaganda to visit the CDF offices and see the number of such cases that received bursaries this month in Sh30 million which we disbursed. We had quite a number of them and I think time for rumour mongering was far over,” he added.

The ODM treasurer said he will not allow any discrimination incidents to deserving students and urged locals to shun from engaging in unnecessary propaganda.
