Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has denied claims that he ignored concerns raised by traders at Eroga Open Air to improve the market hygiene.
The lawmaker said that no one informed him about the state of the market that has now been closed.
"Noone has ever told me that the market lacks toilets. I equally was shocked when I was told that the market had been closed," he said.
Mr Onyonka said that he will follow the matter up and ensure that the county government sorts the matter.
He said that there was need of the market maintained clean so as it does not pose any danger to locals.
He accused his political rivals of spreading propaganda to mislead the constituents about the market.
The Ford Kenya MP promised to ensure there is accelerated development in the region without discriminating any region.
