Timothy Bosire, the ODM treasurer, has sensationally dismissed claims that he is imposing his preferred candidates in the orange party ahead of August polls.
A section of local media had reported that the MP, who is a close ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, had openly endorsed a few leaders across Gusii region.
But on Friday while at Botana, Bosire distanced himself from the claims adding that he was only keen to defend his seat a part from campaigning for NASA candidate.
“The ODM party will go for primaries and members will choose their preferred candidates. I have no intention whatsoever to handpick people,” he said.
Bosire added: “I am also ready to be challenged in my constituency at any time. My intention is to champion for NASA’s ideals and also seek my reelection.”
Understandably, in Nyamira, a section of Governor John Nyagarama supporters have repeatedly questioned Bosire’s close relationship with West Mugirango MP James Gesami, who is also keen to face Nyagarama in nominations.
“It is people who will make decisions. Let them face people and ultimately, we shall have candidates after free and fair nominations,” he said.
The local daily had alleged that Mr. Bosire, who also doubles as Kitutu Masaba MP, was keen to be political defacto in Gusii adding that he was scheming to have his ‘people’ in various elective seats.
