Shinyalu MP Lisamula Anami has lost to former Member of Parliament Justus Kizito in a repeat of ODM nominations.
According to the Returning officer Bishop William Abuka, Anami came in second with 6, 660 votes compared to Kizito’s 13,904 votes.
Anami has for the second time rejected the outcome challenging the Returning officer to first address the issue of the 2,400 marked ballot papers found in the possession of deputy returning officer on Sunday.
The officer is in police custody for further investigation following the allegations made against him.
Anami claimed there were no elections in Shinyalu describing the exercise as sham and a mockery of voters.
While expressing his displeasure, Anami wondered why the Deputy presiding officer had been going round the constituency marking ballot papers and stuffing ballot boxes in favor of his opponent.
During the nomination exercise, a cleric was arrested when some locals claimed that he had been involved in a plan to stuff ballot boxes.
The cleric and another suspect will be arraigned in court on Tuesday according to Shinyalu security Chief Joseph Chebii.
