Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome now says the Saturday night incident where three people were arrested in Eastleigh for allegedly trying to transfer voters illegally should not be blamed on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The MP called for a thorough probe into the matter but also insisted that there was no cause for alarm since IEBC chief executive Ezra Chiloba, had confirmed that there was no BVR kit among the materials recovered during the arrest.
"I listened to Chiloba's statement and he said there was no BVR that was recovered. It was just some other materials that were recovered that we can even verify their authenticity," she told NTV's AMLive on Monday.
"We cannot attribute this incident to the IEBC, the investigations are ongoing and we are yet to find out if the materials were truly actual IEBC voter listing material. In this country we have had incidences of leaders even printing their own ballot papers," she added.
