The International Criminal Court (ICC) should investigate Opposition leader Raila Odinga after the formation of National Resistance Movement, a Jubilee MP has said.
Raila last week transformed the Opposition alliance, NASA, into a resistance movement, calling for civil disobedience against 'dictatorial' Jubilee regime.
"From today we are transforming NASA into a resistance movement, embark on a national campaign of defiance of illegitimate governmental authority and non-co-operation with all its organs and boycott the goods and services offered by the businesses for whose benefit dictatorship is being established," Raila announced.
But speaking to the press on Monday, Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama and Rift Valley Council of Elders condemned Raila's move, calling for a probe.
"The government and the international community should not allow the Opposition leader Raila Odinga to run an outlawed outfit. This is how genocide starts through creation of militant-like groupings," Arama said.
"The International Criminal Court Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda should be taking judicial notice of the happenings in Kenya. This group (NRM) could be planning secretly to cause chaos in the country," said Gilbert Kabage, the elders' chairman.
