A member of parliament allied to the Amani National Congress party has identified the source of the internal wrangles within the opposition outfit.
Lugari MP Ayub Savula has said that the appointment of Barrack Muluka as the secretary general was the root cause of the wrangles.
Savula and Aseka said internal wrangles have been caused by the controversy surrounding the appointment of Barrack Muluka as secretary general.
Savula, therefore, suggests that the party needs to hold grassroots elections in order to solve the wrangles.
“What our detractors are calling wrangles is a small problem and a mess that we will sort out soon through an election,” Savula said.
Muluka was appointed party by Musalia Mudavadi in October last year to replace nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi.
The party is operating with an interim team.
This comes as Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala and his Vihiga counterpart George Khaniri have openly rebelled senior party leadership.
