Narok North MP Moitale ole Kenta has formally decamped from the Jubilee Party to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party.
Speaking on Sunday after he was received to ODM by Party leader Raila Odinga, the legislator observed that his supporters prevailed upon him to quit Jubilee for the Opposition, further pledging to back Odinga's Presidential bid.
"I have defected because my people have asked me to stand on the ODM party and that is why I didn’t come to your (Mr Odinga) office to do it there but in front of the people," he said.
“We are gathered here today to let our people, and the country at large, know that our political destiny is in our own hands and shall from now henceforth not be decided by forces outside of this community,’' he added.
The lawmaker was elected on the now defunct TNA party ticket during the 2013 general elections.
