Nakuru woman representative Mary Mbugua said it was the reluctance of such officers that brewers continue to sell the deadly liquor unabated.

Mbugua faulted the officers for receiving bribes from the brewers to alert them of impending crackdown and possible arrest.

She singled out Bahati OCPD Dancun Nguthu whom she said was sleeping on the job after one person died in the area over illicit brew-related complications.

Mbugua said the war against the vice was an order from President Uhuru Kenyatta and should be zealously implemented across the board.
