President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are targeting small people in Kenya in the war against corruption, Bonchari MP John Oyioka has said.
The MP stated that the government should first go for the 'big fish’.
“I am not pleased with the efforts by Uhuru and Ruto to fight corruption in this country. Well established people who have stolen public funds have been left to walk free while poor people who have gotten a few share of the stolen funds are being targeted,” he said.
The lawmaker said the state should sensitize workers on the need to stop stealing public funds to enrich themselves.
“Government workers lack information on the utilization of public resources. It is time the government should consider conducting public forums to advice workers on the need to stop diverting funds meant for development to their own pockets,” said Oyioka.
Oyioka was speaking on Friday during the Madaraka day celebrations at Itiero primary school grounds in Bonchari Sub County.
