Ben Momanyi was left acting as DP William Ruto’s ‘temporary’ security guard after thousands of Borabu residents jeered him in presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto.

Momanyi, a Wiper MP from Borabu has been facing hostility from his constituents with the recent drama involving university students who accused him of disbursing ‘little’ cash for bursaries.

And in Nyansiongo’s stop over, Momanyi ensured a torrid moment forcing Mr. Ruto to take over microphone from him to appeal for calmness.

“He is a failure and does not care about our people. He is good at visiting Chang’aa dens,” said Kevin Kebaso, a Nyansiongo resident.

Surprisingly, Mr. Momanyi was the only elected leader from Nyamira County who attended several rallies presided over by Kenyatta.

Both Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), Alice Chae (Nyamira County), James Gesami (West Mugirango), Charles Geni (North Mugirango) and Governor John Nyagarama gave the event a wide berth.

However, Bosire who is attending a PAC meeting in Canada told the press that he had not been invited in the rallies.

Among the projects launched during Uhuru’s tour include Chepilat-Chabera road which has been under construction for six years.
