Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama has condemned the ugly incident witnessed in the Nakuru County Assembly where several MCAs publicly exchanged blows.
Arama who addressed the press at Nakuru town this morning said the incident has painted the county negatively.
He said that the MCAs had an opportunity to use dialogue instead of fighting in public.
“It is so disappointing that our MCAs choose to fight in public and paint us negatively,” said Arama.
He noted that the conflict pitting the county Speaker Susan Kihika and some MCAs would be disastrous if not amicably addressed.
Arama at the same time accused the MCAs of failing to reason out and seek peaceful means of addressing their grievances.
He said that it is high time leaders realised that they are in office to represent people who elected them and not on their one interests.
Arama added that the public has a right to recall leaders who disrespect offices they represent.
On Tuesday, chaos erupted in the Nakuru County Assembly after a section of MCAs accused Speaker Kihika of being hard on specific members.
Several leaders have condemned the incident and called for political maturity among Members of County Assembly across the country to start behaving as leaders and not goons.
