North Murigango member of Parliament Charles Geni has finally spoken out regarding claims of embezzlement of the Constituency Development Fund kitty.

Geni and the CDF committee have been accused of issuing bursary cheques from the North Mugirango CDF kitty to students in the Coast region where his wife hails from.

But Geni who spoke to this writer on Thursday denied the allegations terming them propaganda aimed at bringing him down politically.

“Those allegations are false and propagated by some politicians to bring me down. I have heard of cheques but I know they are fake. Let these people go to court if indeed they feel that the evidence is valid and stop lying to old people out there,” Geni said.

“The bursaries were allocated to all students of North Mugirango despite the fact that the kitty could not serve all them. If you got Sh5,000 and your expectations were Sh20,000, someone needs to understand that there are many needy students in North Mugirango,” Geni added.

“Our people should not be misled by this information which is aimed at causing divisions in the constituency. Let us unite and work together to end poverty in North Mugirango. It’s not yet time for politics lets us focus on development first,“ he said.

He challenged all aspirants in North Mugirango to be productive and not propagate selfish interest.
