North Mugirango MP Charles Geni has announced he will vie for the Nyamira County governorship seat in 2022.
Geni said he has seen how the leadership in a majority of the counties across the country have failed to embrace development projects.
“In 2022, I will vie for the Nyamira gubernatorial seat to fight corruption and initiate more development projects,” Geni said in his constituency on Monday.
“There is a need to become governor in 2022 to bring change in Nyamira County and to be the first governor who will help county governments by fighting corruption,” he added.
Geni reiterated his commitment to seek re-election for the North Mugirango seat in 2017 to complete his development projects that he has already initiated before going for the top county seat.
“I have brought about many changes in the education and road sectors and I am aiming to do more development before joining the gubernatorial race in 2022," concluded Geni who was on Friday installed as an elder for the constituency.
