West Mugirango MP James Gesami has said opposition leader Raila Odinga could make the best president in Kenya following his message to embattled Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba.
Raila while in Budalang'i, told residents that the problem wasn’t Ababu but the Jubilee government, and hinted that he will try to reach out to ‘their son’ for talks.
Ababu relinquished the much coveted ODM secretary general post citing frustrations from a number of top party leaders.
And on Wednesday, Gesami who accompanied Raila told this writer that the trip had turned out to be ‘different’ from what many had expected.
“Honestly, most of us expected our party leader to have kind of a harsh message to his political student Ababu but it turned out to be something different. Giving Ababu such a powerful message is something that I support,” said the Nyamira ODM chair.
“He is the best president we can have in this country. He even told residents not to rebuke Ababu and instead blamed the Jubilee government on woes our former SG is going through. And above all, he said that he will try to meet him and iron out the differences,” added Gesami.
Raila has been in Western province since Monday and is expected to culminate his week-long tour on Friday in Kakamega.
