South Mugirango Member of parliament has something to smile about after the Kisii court ordered Kithure Kindiki and associates advocates to pay him legal fees totaling to Sh3.3 million and all interests.
This comes after the MP was awarded Sh7.5million by the court in a 2008 election petition which was between Manson Oyongo and Omingo Magara when Nyamweya went to court seeking nullification of 2007 election in South Mugirango after Omingo was declared the winner
Giving out the ruling on Tuesday at Kisii court, High Court Judge Winfridah Okwany said that the accused will pay back the money plus interest.
Represented by advocate Oguttu Mboya, Nyamweya had argued that he was not given his full payment after the matter was settled in court but now he hopes that he will get the money after the ruling.
Nyamweya is going to get Sh3.3 million plus 14 percent of interest from December 2 in the year 2010 after the amount was taxed from Sh7.5 million.
Addressing the press after the Judgment, Nyamweya said that he will wait for the 30 days request period.
“I am happy that the truth has prevailed, I hope that am going to get the money as the court has ruled,” he said.
