Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has hailed the Imperial Bank Limited for constructing a Sh150,000-water point for Kiandutu slum area in the town.
Speaking on Monday in Thika town, the legislator said that the provision of water to the slum dwellers will greatly impact on cleanliness and water catchment, which has been a huge challenge in the area.
Ng’ang’a praised the bank for coming out handy in helping the needy students who were interfered with their learning due to lack of water in the area and were forced to leave school early.
“The bank has done the impossible to the students through the effort of branch manager Njambi Warui and now they have no reason to leave school early due to lack of water,” said the MP.
Kianjau primary school had earlier benefited a perimeter wall through Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to tame insecurity in the school a few weeks ago.
The legislator has challenged the head teacher to post good results in the school since the tools of trade are now in order and have no excuse to register bad results.
“It’s now up to you pupils and the head teacher to register pleasing results in the area since now you have all the resources needed,” challenged the MP.
The MP further promised the students who will pass examination to get direct bursaries to join national schools and their parents should not worry over the fees.
