The enactment of the Security Bill has started to bear fruits, according to a legislator.
Juja MP Francis Munyua says that most parts of the country have started to witness peace especially at the Coast which had for a long time during festive season had been prone to insecurity.
“When I see people going for holidays to the Coast, I am gratified,” said Waititu.
He said due to the prevailing peace in the country, many holidaymakers were able to visit many parts of the country.
“Every Kenyan was able to move freely in the country due to improved security as a result of the Security Bill,” said Waititu.
Speaking on Monday at Juja Town, Waititu said that the Security Laws Amendment Bill would enable security agencies to defend and secure the lives and property of Kenyans and ensure restoration of stability in the country.
“The Security Laws Bill will enhance security that will make Kenyans free from terror attacks by the Al-Shabaab,” said Waititu.
Waititu urged all Kenyans to read the contents of the Security Bill and fully implement its provisions.
“No one will be spared by the bill, even policeman who fails to deliver to the expectations of the public will be held accountable,” said Waititu.
The legislator expressed optimism that the country would register exponential growth in next year as more investors would have confidence in investing in the country.
“Insecurity had impacted negatively on investors’ confidence but with the adoption and enactment of the Security Bill, improved activities by investors will be witnessed,” said Waititu.
