Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has been urged to deploy more police officers at borders of Nyamira, Kericho, Narok and Bomet counties to curb livestock theft.
According to Borabu MP Ben Momanyi, bandits have been sleepless nights those who reside in the aforesaid borders.
“More police officers should be deployed at the boundaries to help in fighting bandits," said Momanyi.
"Matiang’i should move with speed and order more police officers to be deployed at the boundaries to arrest and prosecute the bandits,” he added.
The lawmaker also challenged Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to order police to intensify security patrols day and night at the borders to prevent strangers from accessing Nyamira County.
This comes after a suspected thief on Thursday tried to steal goats in North Borabu within Nyamira County.
