Kisauni Member of Parliament (MP) Ali Mbogo has asked President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto to stop imposing themselves on Kenyans.Mbogo claimed that the October 26 repeat presidential election was shambolic.Speaking to journalists in Kisauni Town on Tuesday, Mbogo claimed that the election was conducted in a rush and thus did not adhere to the law.The MP asked Uhuru to step down and allow for a free, fair and credible presidential election where all registered voters will participate in.“The October 26 repeat poll did not meet the conditions set by the courts and will be nullified again if a petition is filed in the Supreme Court,” said Mbogo.Mbogo at the same time hit out at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) accusing it of ignoring the orders given by the Supreme Court when it nullified the August 8 presidential election.“The court was very clear on what IEBC was supposed to do but we did not see the commission adhere to the orders in terms of conducting free and fair repeat elections,” he added. The MP said the country is divided and cannot move forward following the declaration of Uhuru as president-elect, arguing that 80 percent of registered voters did not vote. The opposition and a section of civil rights groups have questioned Uhuru’s win, terming the repeat poll as a sham.Opposition leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday claimed that only 3.5 million voters participated in the repeat poll contrary to IEBC's figure of 7.6 million.
