Garissa Township MP hopeful Abdi Yarre has exuded confident of sending incumbent MP Ade Duale home in next week’s general election.

Yarre who is vying on Amani National Congress (ANC) Party says that he has the numbers to send Duale home.

Addressing supporters on Wednesday, Yarre said that he will win the seat with over 80 percent.

“Duale and Maalim should prepare for tough political battle on August 8 because I have what it takes to win the seat,” he said as quoted by the Daily Nation.

Yarre criticized Duale claiming that the MP has not done anything meaningful for residents. The MP hopeful said that insecurity and unemployment remains key issues facing locals.

He said that he will push for key laws that will create jobs and boost the economy if he wins the Garissa Township seat.

The MP hopeful also pledged to work with the county and national government to ensure safety of residents if he is elected.

The ANC MP hopeful urged residents to shun propagandists who he said are spreading false propaganda against him.

The Garissa seat has been taunted a two horse race between incumbent Aden Duale and former National assembly deputy speaker Farah Maalim.

A poll by Trends Insights for Africa (TIFA) released on Monday showed that Duale enjoys majority support at 77 per cent, Maalim at 18 per cent and Yarre at 0.7 per cent.
