Kimani said that the stadium will help nurture young talents and tame insecurity.

“Many talents go to waste due to lack of support and facilities. The stadium will help our youth to keep busy. It will also help to boost the county government income since some outsiders may want to use it,” says Ichung’wa.

The legislator who was speaking on Saturday at Nderi in Kikuyu expressed his concerns with talented players who venture into criminal activity at an early age and being lured into drugs and substance which bar them from maximumly utilising their potential.

He faulted Kiambu County Government for being sluggish in development and unemployment, the major concern for most youths.

He appealed to youths to venture into sports activity as a source of livelihood.

According to Ichungw’a Kikuyu Stadium will be used to host local games, grow talents and develop more teams in the Kenya Premier League (KPL).

Ichungwa has called on well wishers to come out handy in developing the stadium to help young youths and players whose talents go to waste.
